Questions
What does ^BY do?
^BY sets the module width (the narrowest bar, in dots) for the barcodes that follow it, and the default bar height. A wider module makes the barcode bigger and easier to scan.
Which barcode should I use on a shipping label?
Code 128 for tracking and reference numbers, because it packs letters and digits densely; GS1-128 when a carrier or retailer asks for it; and a QR or Data Matrix code for URLs or long data.
Why doesn't my EAN-13 or UPC-A print?
They take digits only, in a fixed count: 12 for EAN-13 and 11 for UPC-A. The printer adds the check digit, so send it without it or with the correct one.
